You know exactly how this morning goes

You played well yesterday. Two hours of open play, good games, and you got to shots you would have missed six months ago.

Then you woke up. There was no pop and nothing you'd call an injury. Your knees were just waiting for you at the top of the stairs with that familiar grinding ache.

So you take the stairs slowly and hold the railing. You tell yourself you'll stretch more, wear the sleeve today and maybe skip tomorrow.

Maybe it's your shoulder instead. The first few drives feel fine. It's the overhead on game point, when you reach a little too far and feel a pull, and you spend the next two points wondering if you just made it worse.

And in the back of your mind you start counting. How many more mornings like this until you have to cut back to two days a week? How long until a small ache turns into an MRI and a season on the bench?

Every court has a player who kept playing through it and ended up sitting out a whole season. You don't want to be next.

If this sounds like your mornings, keep reading. There's a reason it keeps happening, and you can fix it at home.

Why the brace drawer and the stretching haven't fixed it

You're doing what you were told to do. The trouble is that each of these things works on the ache. None of them builds the muscle that would stop the ache from coming back.

What most players try

  • A knee sleeve or brace. It squeezes your knee from the outside and can dull the ache for a few hours. When you take it off, the muscles around your knee are exactly as weak as they were that morning.
  • New court shoes and insoles. Softer shoes change how the impact feels. Your legs still have to stop your full body weight on every hard stop.
  • Stretching before every game. Stretching makes a tight muscle longer. A long muscle that is weak still can't hold your knee steady when you lunge.
  • Days off and ibuprofen. Rest lets your knee calm down. Then you go back out with the same muscles, and the ache is back the next morning.

What Court Ready does

  • Builds the muscles above and below your knee that hold it steady
  • Trains your legs to stop your body weight and push you back up from a low lunge
  • Builds the small muscles around your shoulder joint so drives and overheads stop wearing on it
  • Takes every move through full range, so you keep your mobility while you get stronger

A brace holds your knee in place from the outside. Strong muscles hold it from the inside, and you keep them when you walk off the court.

This isn't about getting older

A lot of players figure the ache is just age catching up with them. Here's what's really going on.

In one game you stop your whole body weight on one leg, sink into a lunge and push back up, and you do it over and over for two hours. Every overhead pulls on the small muscles inside your shoulder. Your heart and lungs are ready for that. The muscles around your knees and shoulders usually aren't, because nobody ever trained them for pickleball.

When those muscles can't handle the load, your joints take it instead. That's the ache you feel on the stairs.

Muscles get stronger when you train them at 45 and they get stronger when you train them at 70. So the fix is the same at any age. You build the muscles that pickleball leans on.

Picture the morning after Day 28

You played hard yesterday, two full hours. This morning you walk down the stairs, make your coffee and realize you haven't thought about your knees once.

You play again today, the second day in a row, and you hit your overheads without bracing for the pull in your shoulder.

The brace stays in the drawer. You're back to planning your week around when you want to play, and your knees have no say in it.

That's what Court Ready is built for.

No gym. One band. 10 minutes.

Plenty of players know they should do some strength work and will never set foot in a gym. You do Court Ready in your living room with one resistance band and enough floor space to take a step sideways. Every move has an easier and a harder version, so you start right where you are.

1

Press play

Every session is a follow-along video on your phone, tablet or computer. You watch and copy.
2

Do the moves

About 10 minutes with one band. Start with the easier version of each move.
3

Check off the day

Each of the 4 weeks adds a little more as your knees and shoulders get stronger. All 28 days are laid out for you.

"Can't I just find knee exercises on YouTube?"

You can, and you probably have. Most players try a few videos for a couple of weeks, can't tell if anything is changing and quit. Here's the difference.

Videos you find on YouTube

  • Single exercises with no order to follow
  • You guess how many reps to do and how often
  • Usually made for general knee pain, not for stopping and lunging on a court
  • Every week you start over and decide what to do

Court Ready

  • Moves picked for the stops, lunges and overheads pickleball asks for
  • Reps and days already set for you
  • A set plan for all 28 days, and each week gets a little harder
  • The 28-day calendar tells you exactly what to do each day

You log in and press play. All the planning is done for you.

Here's everything you get inside Court Ready

Court Ready on laptop, tablet and phone
Days 1-28

Knee Strength Track

Three days a week, about 10 minutes each. Step-downs, split squat holds, side lunges and calf and shin work. These train your legs to stop your body weight, control a lunge and push you back up. Most players start here.
Days 1-28

Shoulder Strength Track

Two days a week, about 10 minutes each. Band rotations, shoulder blade work and overhead holds that build up the small muscles your shoulder leans on for drives, overheads and serves.
Before you play

4-Minute Courtside Warm-Up

Most players dink for a few minutes and call it a warm-up. That gets your hands ready while your knees stay cold. This routine wakes up your legs and shoulders before your first hard lunge. Phone video plus a card for your bag.
After you play

Day-After Reset

An 8-minute routine for the morning after a long session, when your knees and shoulders feel stiff. It loosens you up so you're ready to play again sooner.

Who it's not for: If you have a fresh injury, sharp pain, swelling or a tear, see your doctor or a physical therapist first. Court Ready is a strength program. It doesn't diagnose or treat injuries. It also takes 10 minutes a few times a week, so you do have to press play.

PROPOSED: Real player reviews go here after launch. This stays empty until we have real buyers who agree to share.

Questions players ask before they buy

What do I need?

One resistance band and enough floor space to take a step sideways. If you don't own a band, any light or medium band from a sporting goods store or Amazon works.

I'm in my 60s. Is this too hard for me?

Every move has an easier version, and the Quick Start Guide has you begin there. If you can get down to the floor and back up, you can do this. When the easy version feels easy, you move up.

I already stretch. Why do I need this?

Keep stretching. It helps you move. Stretching can't build the strength your knee needs to stop your body weight on a hard lunge, and it can't build the strength your shoulder needs for two hours of drives. Court Ready adds that part.

What if I fall off after a week? I've done that before.

That's why every session is a 10-minute follow-along and the guide picks your days for you. If you miss a week, you pick up where you left off. Your access never runs out.

Is $27 too small to fix a real problem?

If you have sharp pain, swelling or a diagnosis, see your doctor first. Court Ready is for the dull ache after you play that comes from muscles that were never trained for pickleball. The price is low because it's a set of videos and a plan. The work is the part that makes you stronger.

Should I see a physical therapist instead?

If you're injured, yes, go see one. Court Ready is a strength program for players who aren't injured and want their knees and shoulders to hold up. It doesn't replace medical care.

Do I have to stop playing while I do this?

No. The Quick Start Guide shows you how to fit sessions around your play days, and the warm-up and reset are built to go with your games.

What if it's not for me?

You have 30 days. If your knees and shoulders don't feel stronger on the court, email us and you get every cent back. You don't need to give a reason.

How do I get it?

Right after you pay, you get an email with your login. You can do your first session today.

Our guarantee: "Stronger on the court, or it's free."

The ache usually gets louder before it gets better

There's no timer on this page and no deadline. The price will be the same tomorrow.

The thing to watch is your knees. When the muscles around a joint stay weak and you keep playing three days a week, the ache tends to grow. Players who end up sitting out a season often say they thought it would go away on its own.

Ten minutes a few times a week is a small thing to add now, while it's still just the stairs.

You've got two ways to go from here

Keep doing what you're doing

  • Wear the sleeve and stretch in the driveway
  • Take a day off after every session
  • Hold the railing on the way down the stairs
  • Hope it doesn't get worse

Start the 28-Day Challenge today

  • 10 minutes at home with one band
  • Stronger muscles around your knees and shoulders in 28 days
  • Play two days in a row and wake up ready
  • 30 days to try it with your money back if it doesn't work

Scrolled to the bottom? Here's the short version.

Your knees ache after open play because the muscles around them aren't strong enough for pickleball. A brace, new shoes and more stretching can't change that. Building those muscles can.

Court Ready is 10 minutes at home with one band. It builds the strength around your knees and shoulders so you can play more days and wake up the next morning without dreading the stairs.
